STACKPOLE ELECTRONICS, INC. ANNOUNCES REDUCED LEADTIMES FOR THE HVC SERIES HIGH VOLTAGE CHIP RESISTORS
RALEIGH, NC (Sep. 3, 2008) - Stackpole Electronics, Inc. today announced that the leadtime for their HVC series of high voltage chip resistors has been reduced to 6 to 8 weeks. As the market demand for high voltage resistors continues to increase, Stackpole has greatly increased capacity in order to keep leadtimes from increasing.
The award winning HVC series uses a proprietary method of depositing the thick film resistance material on the ceramic substrate. This process yields a resistance element that is more stable, less noisy, and capable of much higher voltages and resistance values compared to other high voltage resistors.
The HVC series is capable of voltage handling to 3.5kV; resistance values of 2Gohm; VCR's down to 1 ppm per volt; TCR's down to 25 ppm; and tolerances as tight as 0.1%. Because of the patented resistor deposition method, the most impressive feature of the HVC series is to provide tight tolerance and low TCR's for very high ohmic values.
Applications for this product cover a wide range of medical applications, high voltage power supplies, personal protection devices, night vision goggles, baggage scanning equipment, instrumentation, and power and phone distribution safety circuitry.
The HVC series is available in standard tape and reel packaging on 7 inch reels. Pricing varies greatly with size, tolerance, TCR, and resistance value, but ranges typically from $0.50 each to around $4.00 each.
